Spring is finally here. Yet, when it comes to venture funding for female led startups, it seems like we’re still in the middle of winter. A recent Crunchbase report shows that only 3% of venture dollars were invested in solo female founders in Q1 of 2018. Overall, funding into companies with at least one female founder represents just 9% of venture dollars invested in Q1 2018, the lowest number over the past year. That is absolutely astonishing. It’s time for a change.

At ICONYC, we’re fortunate to invest in 6 companies led by female-founder CEOs, including the likes of MyndYou, Cinch, Flux, LeO, Pitaya and Zirra, representing 20% of our total portfolio companies. In addition, one of our companies, Halo Labs, has a female founder CTO, an extremely rare find in today’s tech world dominated by male tech founders. Read more on our Newsletter
