Enterprise software continues to be hot, with NYC in the forefront of developing some of the most successful enterprise tech companies of today. NYC-based Datadog, which provides ‘Cloud Monitoring as a Service’ is the fourth software IPO in 2019 to reach $10 billion in valuation, another example of the diversity of NYC tech. Historically, the big software companies have been based in Silicon Valley but with Datadog and MongoDB who went for an IPO in 2017, NYC now has two publicly-traded companies that are real category leaders in the enterprise software space, a game-changer for the city’s tech ecosystem.
