What happens when you put promising Israeli tech entrepreneurs in NYC and plug them into our robust tech eco-system? Well, we’re about to find out.
In the past few years, we have seen a remarkable evolution take place in the global startup landscape.
Israel, a tiny nation of eight million people — for context, the same population as the five boroughs of NYC — has produced countless technology products that have have touched our daily lives. Whether these innovations assist disabled people to walk again or help millions of drivers across the world get to where they need to go, the abundance of entrepreneurial ambition and talent is clear.
In fact, we believe that things are just getting started.
Imagine if the new generation of Israeli entrepreneurs had the opportunity to establish their US presence sooner. Get greater access to customers, users, partners and investors. Could it change their trajectory? Would it enable them to possibly be more impactful?
Today, we turn that imagination into reality with the launch of ICONYC labs, a startup acceleration program that has been built from the ground up to specifically address the opportunities and challenges faced by Israeli entrepreneurs in their transition from local startups to global companies.
We are starting this effort with an amazing group of entrepreneurs that are building solutions in established and emerging markets using “smart data” and analytics to solve big problems. Whether it’s in the area of agriculture, industrial IoT or mental health, our entrepreneurs are addressing complex markets with technical yet creative solutions.
The team at ICONYC labs, along with our network of advisors and partners, is excited to embark on this new chapter in NYC tech. We would also like to say a special thank you to Jason and AlleyNYC for believing in this program and their support. We couldn’t think of a better tech community for our entrepreneurs to be part of.
We thank all of you for your support and are welcome you to be part of our journey.
